Thank God for Your Grace

Hi, it’s still about me and my birthday.

In the last post I already thank my acquaintances (family, friends, etc), but I haven’t mention my gratefulness to the most important person in my life. Someone that I can’t live without. My great, awesome DADDY.

Thank you, Lord for all your guidance upon me. I know I’ve been such a naughty and rebel daughter this past year. Maybe no one really notice how bad is my relationship with You this past year. I avoided many chances to serve You, even when I serve You, I didn’t do it wholeheartedly. Came to services – but only my body presence there, my soul is flew away through times and dimension. I’ve become more selfish and individualist. I was too angry with You, everything wasn’t happened according to my plan last year. Too many dreams and plans were broken.  I realize that everything happens for my own good. This understanding is already planted deep down in my mind. But when everything seems out of my control, I started questioning Your will, mad at you, blaming You for everything happened upon me. Okay.. It’s really childish. I’m just like Elijah, when problems came my way, I withdrew myself from the community. And it made our relationship worst than ever.

Through many things You call me back, but I kept run away. Even though I realize how big is Your love, I still hardening my heart. Until dunno when, I was getting tired running away from You. Then I realize that I’m nothing without You, all the greatest thing I ever done, I did it with You by my side. All the happiest moment in my life was given by You. And now, here I am, thanking for Your love, Your patience, thanking You for not giving up on me. Also sorry for all those silly attitudes, rebel act, and for my stubbornness.

I’m trying to be the old me, who trust You wholeheartedly, always put You as my number one. But Lord it’s really hard. Mending a broken relationship is far harder than building a new relationship. The problem is within myself. Questioning Your plan already became a habit. I know I can’t mend this relationship by my own might, but I’m sure by Your grace it can. You gave me another chance to know You better, to serve You better. Teach me, mold me, use me as Your tool. May in this new age I can be a better person that makes You smile. X)

Thank You Lord,

See by  faith, done by love, n walk by grace~

Arthur Ashe as my role model

Maybe many people have heard about this guy. Indeed I learned about him few weeks ago through sermon. There was his sentence that amazed me, and pushes me to learn about his life.

Arthur Ashe is an African American. He was born at July 10, 1943 and died at February 6, 1993.He has been known for his achievements as a professional tennis player and for his efforts to further social causes. He has won three Grand Slam Titles during his career, putting him among the best ever from the US. He also founded the Arthur Ashe Foundation for the Defeat of AIDS. Around year 1979, Ashe suffered a heart attack. He underwent two bypass surgeries, and infected by HIV during the blood translation from his second surgery. (1)

Some of his acquaintances ask him, did he angry with God because of his disease. His answer makes me amazed. He answered, “If I were to say, “God, why me?” about the bad things, then I should have said, “God, why me?” about the good things that happened in my life.” Yeah, sometimes we, especially I, myself, forget to thank God during our blissful times. We used to forget that everything goods are come from God, and never ask why it should us whom get the profit or those blessing. But during the hardest times in our lives, sometimes we made a slip, asking God why me whom must through this situation. His words teach me to be thankful, and strengthen me. It reminds me that God never leaves us through the good and bad things. Everything is under His control. Even we made a great mistake; He can turn it out into beautiful things. It doesn’t matter about the good things or bad things happened to us, but it’s about the process, how we react to it. Geez..Thanks God for create such a human being like Arthur Ashe, so I learn many things from Him, even I never be acquainted with him directly.

These are some Arthur Ashe quotes that I like:

“I keep sailing on in this middle passage. I am sailing into the wind and the dark. But I am doing my best to keep my boat steady and my sails full.”

“One important key to success is self-confidence. An important key to self-confidence is preparation.”

“Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.”

“Success is a journey, not a destination. The doing is often more important than the outcome.”

“Trust has to be earned, and should come only after the passage of time.”

“You’ve got to get to the stage in life where going for it is more important than winning or losing.”

White Lie:allowed or not?

Today I was asked to participate in teens’ debate at my church and the topic was about white lie. Well since they asked me few weeks ago, I’ve been wondering whether I agree or not. After thinking and goggling I thought it depend on the case, but my friend insisted me to be at the contra side, and our group need to fight for it ‘till the end.

I felt like a hypocrite actually. Insisted that we must not lie whatever the reason is, indeed in reality I’m still lying, either for good or bad reason. But from today’s debate I got the answer about this topic.

These are some arguments from the “Pro’s” side:

  1. White lie is allowed depends on the case, especially the case about life and death.
  2. It’s normal as a human to do white lie, because we have a good intention.
  3. God is good. He’ll forgive our sins when we asked Him especially when we have a good motivation in doing that sin.
  4. Everything has its own time, so maybe now it’s not the time to tell the truth.
  5. If white lie can encourage others, it right to be done rather than let them down.
  6. Sometime God could use this white lie to protect HIS child (based on history).

And these ones are our arguments as the “contra’s”:

  1. Matthew 5:37: Simply let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No,’ ‘No’; anything beyond this comes from the evil one.
  2. Telling half truth is already a sin, so telling a lies even for a greater good is also a sin.
  3. Sooner or later the truth will be revealed. So why should we postponed it?
  4. Facing reality by telling the truth teaches us to be more mature.
  5. Using a power of word and mind to tell the truth so we don’t have to make a sin, and also can keep encouraging others.
  6. We’re all a God’s child. We must not live in grey area (white lie). We need to be a light in this dark world. How can we being a role model by telling a white lie?

To be honest our argument is too theoretical. It’s hard to do it in our daily lives, like our  opponent has said. And after the debate, our reverend gives some conclusions based on the Bible. These are the conclusions:

  1. There were some stories about white lie in the Bible. Rahab lied about those two snoops who hid in her house. The midwives lied to Pharaoh about the child. It looks that white lie is right and allowed by God. But the truth is God doesn’t agree with any kind of sin, even a white lie. But God can make our silly and awful mistakes into something beautiful, but He isn’t pleased with it. Some people said that Rahab was redeemed because she lied and hid those two snoops, indeed Rahab was redeemed because of her faith.
  2. There will always some risks by telling the truths. Believe God will help us to tell it, to face it, and to overcome the risk.
  3. Right motivation + wrong way (white lie) = SIN. Wrong motivation +truth (Example: we were caught by the police for trespassing, and then we told him that somebody was treated at the Hospital and then the police let us go. We were honest that somebody was treated at the hospital, but it’s not our acquaintances. )=SIN. God looks our process not just the end result.
  4. Right motivation + wrong way =another problem. Sarai heard about God’s  promises that Abram’s descendants will be as much as the stars in the sky. But Sarai didn’t believe that God would fulfill it through her. She used her own way instead of believing God. She wed Abram to Hagar and then Ishmail was born. Israel came from Isaac’s bloodline, while the Egypt came from Ishmail’s bloodline. And few years later Israel were captive by the Egypt.
  5. Back to the Bible, Matthew 5:37
  6. And the last that stunned me….We were made in God’s image and likeness. Is there a liar in God’s personality?

So the BIG Conclusion is as a Christian we weren’t allowed to tell a white lie. White or black as long it’s a lie, it still a sin. As God’s disciples we need to be a light wherever we are. While telling a lie, we dim our light and being a stumbling rock to the unbelievers..X)..

I need You Lord

O Lord, My God…..

Yesterday I was really sure what I’m chasing for

I knew what I’m living for,

And I’m sure which direction to go

What should I do to go there

But suddenly, those feelings just disappeared

And now, I feel like I’m in the middle of no where

Covered by a thick fog

I’m still sure about my goal,

But i can’t see any path to go there

I feel that I’m running in the same place

Over and over again

I know that You are around me

I’m sure that You are beside me

But I can’t feel Your presence..

Is it because my faith is not strong enough?

Is it because I have the wrong vision?

I’m wondering Lord…

I can’t walk alone; I need to hold Your hands.

I need You Lord…

I don’t care what will happen next

Though it’d be hard

With You by my side

I’m sure I can cope it..

I need You Lord

The Ant and Contact lens (True story)

Filed under: Inspirational stories — by cinkiez @ 10:18 pm

When God takes something from your grasp, He’s not punishing you, but merely opening your hands to receive something better.

‘The will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not protect you.’

The Ant and the Contact lens: A TRUE STORY

Brenda was almost halfway to the top of the tremendous granite cliff. She was standing on a ledge where she was taking a breather during this, her first rock climb. As she rested, the safety rope snapped against her eye and knocked out her contact lens. ‘Great’, she thought. ‘Here I am on a rock ledge, hundreds of feet from the bottom and hundreds of feet to the top of this cliff, and now my sight is blurry.’ She looked and looked, hoping that somehow it had landed on the ledge. But it just wasn’t there. She felt the panic rising in her, so she began praying. She prayed for calm, and she prayed that she may find her contact lens. When she got to the top, a friend examined her eye and her clothing for the lens, but it was not to be found. Although she was calm now that she was at the top, she was saddened because she could not clearly see across the range of mountains. She thought of the bible verse ‘The eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth.’ She thought, ‘Lord, You can see all these mountains. You know every stone and leaf, and You know exactly where my contact lens is. Please help me.’

Later, when they had hiked down the trail to the bottom of the cliff they met another party of climbers just starting up the face of the cliff. One of them shouted out, ‘Hey, you guys! Anybody lose a contact lens?’ Well, that would be startling enough, but you know why the climber saw it? An ant was moving slowly across a twig on the face of the rock, carrying it!

The story doesn’t end there. Brenda’s father is a cartoonist. When she told him the incredible story of the ant, the prayer, and the contact lens, he drew a cartoon of an ant lugging that contact lens with the caption, ‘Lord, I don’t know why You want me to carry this thing. I can’t eat it, and it’s awfully heavy.. But if this is what You want me to do, I’ll carry it for You..’ I think it would do all of us some good to say, ‘God, I don’t know why You want me to carry this load. I can see no good in it and it’s awfully heavy. But, if You want me to carry it, I will.’

God doesn’t call the qualified, He qualifies the called. Yes, I do love GOD. He is my source of existence and my Savior. He keeps me functioning each and every day. Without Him, I am nothing, but with Him…I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me. (Phil. 4:13)

40 Days of Purpose Driven life

Day 11 – Becoming best friends with God

-          God wants to be our best friend. It’s difficult to imagine how an intimate friendship is possible between an omnipotent, invisible, perfect God and a finite, sinful human being.  But the Lord wants to be our best friend. It’s really an honor.

-          Becoming a best friend of God.

  1. Through constant conversation. We will never grow a close relationship with God by just attending church once a week or even having a daily quiet time. Friendship with God is built by sharing all our lives experiences with HIM. Everything we do can be “spending time with God” if HE is invited to be a part of it and you stay aware of HIS presence.
  2. Through continual meditation. It is impossible to be God’s friend apart from knowing what HE says. We can’t love God unless we know HIM, and we can’t know HIM without knowing HIS WORD. While we can’t spend all day studying the Bible, we can think about it throughout the day, recalling verses we have read or memorized and mulling them over in our mind. When we think about our problem over and over in our mind, that’s called worry. When we think about God’s word over and over in our mind, that’s meditation. If we know how to worry, we already know how to meditate. We just need to switch our attention from our problems to Bible verses.

-          Point to Ponder: God wants to be my best friend.

-          Verse to Remember: “Friendship with God is reserved for those who reverence Him.” (Psalm 25:14a)

-          Question to Consider: What can I do to remind myself to think about God and talk to Him more often throughout the day? Well..I usually talk to God during my activity because I prefer praying to God in that way, rather than sitting and taking a long time in solitary to pray. But I know I need both ways to keep communicate with God. I keep telling myself I can’t do anything without HIM, that’s why I keep praying to HIM during my activity.

40 Days of Purpose Driven life

Day 12 – Developing Your Friendship with God.

-          Like any friendship, we must work at developing our friendship with God. It won’t happen by accident. It takes desire, time and energy. If we want a deeper, more intimate connection with God we must learn to honestly share our feelings with HIM, trust Him when HE asks us to do something, learn to care about what He cares about, and desire His friendship more than anything.

-          Some ways developing our friendship with God besides 2 points in day 11.

  1. I must be honest with God. The first building block of a deeper friendship with God is complete honesty – about our faults and our feelings. God doesn’t expect us to be perfect, but He does insist us on complete honesty. It’s likely that we need to confess some hidden anger and resentment at God for certain areas of our lives where we have felt cheated or disappointment. Because bitterness is the greatest barrier to friendship with God. Until we mature enough to understand that GOD uses everything for good in our lives.
  2. I must choose to obey God in faith. Every time we trust God’s wisdom and do whatever He says, even when we don’t understand it, we deepen our friendship with God. We are friends with God, but we are not HIS equals. He is our loving leader, and we follow HIM.. Unbelievers often think Christian obeys out of obligation or guilt or fear of punishment, but the opposite is true. Because we have been forgiven and set free, we obey out of love – and our obedience brings great joy.
  3. I must choose to value what God values. This is what friends do – they care about what is important to the other person. The more we become God’s friend, the more we will care about things He cares about, grieve over the things he grieves over, and rejoice over the things that bring pleasure ti HIM.
  4. I must desire friendship with God more than anything else. The truth is – we are as close to God as we choose to be. Intimate friendship with God is a choice, not an accident. We must intentionally seek it. We may have been passionate about God in the past but we’ve lost that desire. If we’ve just been going through the motions spiritually, don’t be surprised when God allows pain in our lives. Pain is the fuel of passion – it energizes us with an intensity to change that we don’t normally possess. It’s God’s way of arousing us from spiritual lethargy. God doesn’t mad at us; He’s mad about us, and He will do whatever it takes to bring us back into fellowship with HIM.

-          Point to Ponder: I’m as close to God as I choose to be.

-          Verse to Remember: “Draw close to God, and God will draw close to you.” (James 4:8a)

-          Question to Consider: What practical choices will I make today in order to grow closer to God? Reading His word continually, be honest to HIM through prayer about my feeling, and make a new commitment about our relationship.

40 Days of Purpose Driven life

Day 10 – The Heart of worship

-          The heart of worship is surrender.

-          Surrender implies losing, that’s why this word was disliked, because no one wants to be a loser. But surrendering to GOD is the heart of worship. It’s natural response to God’s amazing love and mercy. We give ourselves to HIM, not out of fear or duty, but in love, “because HE first loves us.” (1 John 4:9-10,19).

-          There are three barriers that block our total surrender to GOD: fear, pride, and confusion. We don’t realize how much God loves us, we want to control our own lives, and we misunderstand the meaning of surrender.

-          Trust is an essential ingredient to surrender. We won’t surrender to God unless we trust HIM, but we can’t trust HIM until we know HIM better. Fear keeps us from surrendering, but love cast out all fear. The more we realize how much God loves us, the easier surrender becomes. God gives us many evidences that HE loves us (Psalms 145:9, Psalms 139:3, Mattew 10:30, 1 Timothy 6:17b, Jeremiah 29:11, Psalms 86:5, Psalms 145:8).

-          Admitting our limitations. A second barrier to total surrender is our pride. We don’t want to admit that we’re just creatures and not in charge of everything. Life is a struggle, but what most people don’t realize is that our struggle is really a struggle with God.

-          What it means to surrender. Surrendering to God isn’t passive resignation, fatalism, or an excuse for laziness. It’s not accepting the status quo. It may mean the opposite: sacrificing your life or suffering in order to change what needs to be changed. God often calls surrendered people to do battle on HIS behalf. Surrender is not for cowards or doormats.

-          Surrender doesn’t mean giving up rational thinking. God wouldn’t waste the mind HE gave you! God doesn’t want robots to serve HIM. Surrendering is not repressing your personality. God wants us to use our unique personality. Rather than its being diminished, surrendering enhances it.

-          The blessing of surrender. The Bible is crystal clear about how we benefit when we finally surrender our life to God. First, we experience peace (Job 22:21), next is freedom (Romans 6:17), and God’s power in our life (Joshua 5:13-15).

-          The best way to live. Everybody eventually surrenders to something or someone. If not to God, we surrender to the opinions or expectations of others, to money, to resentment, to fear, or ego. But like E. Stanley Jones said, “If you don’t surrender to Christ, you surrender to chaos.”

-          Surrender is not the best way to live; it is the only way to live.

-          Sometimes it takes years, but eventually we discover that the greatest hindrance to God’s blessing in our lives is not others, it is ourselves – our self will, stubborn pride, and personal ambition. We can’t fulfill God’s purposes for our lives while focusing on our own plans.

-          Don’t be afraid to surrender to JESUS; nothing under HIS control can ever be out of control.

-          When we decide to live a totally surrendered life, that decision will be tested. Sometimes it will mean doing inconvenient, unpopular, costly, or seemingly impossible tasks. It will often mean doing the opposite of what you feel like doing.

-          Point to Ponder: The heart of worship is surrender.

-          Verse to Remember: “Surrender your whole being to HIM to be used for righteous purposes.” (Romans 6:13b).

-          Question to Consider: What area of my life am I holding back from God? My ambition, I have my own plan for future. I don’t know whether it’s HIS purpose upon me, but maybe I need to consider my ambition once more time and surrender it unto HIS hands.

40 Days of Purpose Driven life

Day 6 – Life is a temporary assignment.

-          To make the best use of our lives, we must never forget two truths. First, compared with eternity, life is extremely brief. Second, earth is only temporary residence. We won’t be here long, so don’t get too attached.

-          The fact that earth is not our ultimate home explains why, as followers of Jesus, we experience difficulty, sorrow, and rejection, in this world (John 16:33, 16:20, 15:18-19). It also explains why some of God’s promises seem unfulfilled, some prayers seem unanswered, and some circumstances seem unfair.

-          God allows us to feel a significant amount of discontent and dissatisfaction in life in order to keep us from being too attached to earth.

-          When life gets tough, when we overwhelmed with doubt, or when you wonder if living for Christ is worth the effort, remember that you aren’t home yet. At death you won’t leave home, you’ll go home.

-          Point to Ponder: This world is not my home.

-          Verse to Remember: “So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4:18.

-          Question to Consider: How should the fact that life on earth is just a temporary assignment change the way I am living right now? Of course it changes the way I am living. Our goal isn’t about something temporary like money, success, fame, etc, but it’s about preparing our next job in the eternity.^^.. Do every little thing with all my heart, my soul, do my best in everything I do, because now I’m working for an eternal goal..^^

40 Days of Purpose Driven life

Day 7 – The Reason for everything

-          It’s all for HIS glory. The Glory of God is who God is. It is the expression of HIS goodness and all his other intrinsic, eternal qualities.

-          How can we bring glory to God? – “I brought glory to you here on earth by doing everything YOU told me to do” (John 17:4). The birds bring glory to God by flying, the ants bring glory to God by becoming an ant, and we bring glory to God by being ourselves. St. Irenaeus said, “The glory of God is a human being fully alive.”

  1. We bring glory to God by worshiping HIM. Worship is our first responsibility to God. God wants our worship to be motivated by love, thanksgiving, and delight, not duty. Worship is far more than praising, singing, and praying to God. Worship is a lifestyle of enjoying GOD, loving HIM, and giving ourselves to be used for HIS purpose. When we use our lives for God’s glory, everything we do can become an act of worship.
  2. We bring God glory by loving other believers. When we were born again, we become a part of God’s family. Following Christ is not just a matter of believing it, also includes, belonging and learning to love the family of God.
  3. We bring God glory by becoming like Christ. Spiritual maturity is becoming like Jesus in the way we think, feel, and act. “As the Spirit of the LORD works within us, we become more and more like HIM and reflect HIS glory even more” (2 Corinthians 3:18).
  4. We bring God glory by serving others with our gifts. The way we’re “wired” is not an accidents. God didn’t give us our ability for selfish purposes. They were given to benefit others, just as others were given abilities for our benefits.
  5. We bring God glory by telling others about HIM. God doesn’t want HIS love and purposes kept a secret. Once we know the truth, he expects us to share it with others.

-          What or who are we going to live for? If we hesitate to live for CHRIST, wondering whether we will have strength to live for God, don’t worry. God will give us what we need if we will just make the choice to live for HIM.

-          Point to Ponder: It’s all about HIM.

-          Verse to Remember: “For everything comes from God alone. Everything lives by HIS power, and everything is for HIS glory.” (Romans 11:36)

-          Question to Consider: Where in my daily routine can I become more aware of God’s glory? Theoretically, I must aware in every activity, but honestly I used to forget about that, and sometimes I just did my daily routine for my own sake. After I read this chapter, I’ll try to be aware of HIS glory in every activity I do.

Enjoy the coffee not the cup

A friend sent the following in an e-mail

A group of alumni, highly established in their careers, got together to visit their old university professor. Conversation soon turned into complaints about stress in work and life.

Offering his guests coffee, the professor went to the kitchen and returned with a large pot of coffee and an assortment of cups – porcelain, plastic, glass, crystal, some plain looking, some expensive, some exquisite – telling them to help themselves to the coffee.

When all the students had a cup of coffee in hand, the professor said: “If you noticed, all the nice looking expensive cups were taken up, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones.. While it is but normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress. What all of you really wanted was coffee, not the cup, but you consciously went for the best cups and were eyeing each other’s cups. Now if life is coffee, then the jobs, money and position in society are the cups. They are just tools to hold and contain Life, and the type of cup we have does not define, nor change the quality of Life we live.  Sometimes, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the coffee God has provided us.”

God brews the coffee, not the cups.
Don’t let the cups drive you.. Enjoy the coffee instead

Give and it will come back to you

I got this email 3 days ago, and this story is worth to share..^^..Have you heard a song, “Give and it will come back to you”?  This song is suitable for this story..^^

What Goes Around, Comes Around

The man slowly looked up. This was a woman clearly accustomed to the finer things of life. Her coat was new.

She looked like she had never missed a meal in her life. His first thought was that she wanted to make fun of him, like so many others had done before.

“Leave me alone,” he growled… To his amazement, the woman continued standing. She was smiling – her even white teeth displayed in dazzling rows.

“Are you hungry?” she asked. “No,” he answered sarcastically. “I’ve just come from dining with the president.. Now go away.”

The woman’s smile became even broader.

Suddenly the man felt a gentle hand under his arm.”What are you doing, lady?” the man asked angrily. “I said to leave me alone..”

Just then a policeman came up. “Is there any problem, ma’am?” he asked..

“No problem here, officer,” the woman answered… “I’m just trying to get this man to his feet. Will you help me?”

The officer scratched his head. “That’s old Jack. He’s been a fixture around here for a couple of years. What do you want with him?”

“See that cafeteria over there?” she asked. “I’m going to get him something to eat and get him out of the cold for awhile.”

“Are you crazy, lady?” the homeless man resisted. “I don’t want to go in there!” Then he felt strong hands grab his other arm and lift him up.

“Let me go, officer. I didn’t do anything..”

“This is a good deal for you, Jack,” the officer answered. “Don’t blow it.

“Finally, and with some difficulty, the woman and the police officer got Jack into the cafeteria and sat him at a table in a
remote corner. It was the middle of the morning, so most of the breakfast crowd had already left and the lunch bunch had not yet arrived.

The manager strode across the cafeteria and stood by his table. “What’s going on here, officer?” he asked.”What is all this, is this man in trouble?”

“This lady brought this man in here to be fed,”the policeman answered.

“Not in here!” the manager replied angrily. “Having a person like that here is bad for business.”

Old Jack smiled a toothless grin. “See, lady. I told you so. Now if you’ll let me go. I didn’t want to come here in the first place.”

The woman turned to the cafeteria manager and smiled.”Sir, are you familiar with Eddy and Associates, the banking firm down the street?”

“Of course I am,” the manager answered impatiently. “They hold their weekly meetings in one of my banquet rooms..”

“And do you make a goodly amount of money providing food at these weekly meetings?”

“What business is that of yours?”

“I, sir, am Penelope Eddy, president and CEO of the company.”

“Oh..”

The woman smiled again.. “I thought that might make a difference.”

She glanced at the cop who was busy stifling a laugh.”Would you like to join us in a cup of coffee and a meal, officer?”

“No thanks, ma’am,” the officer replied.

“I’m on duty.”

“Then, perhaps, a cup of coffee to go?”
“Yes, ma’am.. That would be very nice.”

The cafeteria manager turned on his heel.. “I’ll get your coffee for you right away, officer.”

The officer watched him walk away… “You certainly put him in his place,” he said.

“That was not my intent… Believe it or not, I have a reason for all this.”

She sat down at the table across from her amazed dinner guest. She stared at him intently.

“Jack, do you remember me?”

Old Jack searched her face with his old, rheumy eyes.”I think so — I mean you do look familiar.”

“I’m a little older perhaps,” she said.

“Maybe I’ve even filled out more than in my younger days when you worked here, and I came through that very door, cold and hungry.”

“Ma’am?” the officer said questioningly. He couldn’t believe that such a magnificently turned out woman could ever have been hungry.

“I was just out of college,” the woman began.

“I had come to the city looking for a job, but I couldn’t find anything. Finally I was down to my last few cents and had been kicked out of my apartment… I walked the streets for days. It was February and I was cold and nearly starving. I saw this place and walked in on the off chance that I could get something to eat..”

Jack lit up with a smile. “Now I remember,” he said. “I was behind the serving counter. You came up and asked me if you could work for something to eat. I said that it was against company policy.”

“I know,” the woman continued. “Then you made me the biggest roast beef sandwich that I had ever seen, gave me a cup of coffee, and told me to go over to a corner table and enjoy it. I was afraid that you would get into trouble. Then, when I looked over and saw you put the price of my food in the cash register, I knew then that everything would be all right…”

“So you started your own business?” Old Jack said.

“I got a job that very afternoon. I worked my way up.

Eventually I started my own business that, with the help of God, prospered..” She opened her purse and pulled out a business card.

“When you are finished here, I want you to pay a visit to a Mr.Lyons. He’s the personnel director of my company. I’ll go talk to him now and I’m certain he’ll find something for you to do around the office.”

She smiled. “I think he might even find the funds to give you a little advance so that you can buy some clothes and get a place to live until you get on your feet. If you ever need anything, my door is always open to you.”

There were tears in the old man’s eyes. “How can I ever thank you?” he asked.

“Don’t thank me,” the woman answered. “To God goes the glory. He led me to you.”

Outside the cafeteria, the officer and the woman paused at the entrance before going their separate ways..”Thank you for your help officer,” she said.

“On the contrary, Ms. Eddy,” he answered.

“Thank you. I saw a miracle today, something that I will never forget, And thank you for
the coffee.”

Have a Wonderful Day. May God Bless You always and don’t forget that when you “cast your bread upon the waters,” you never know how it will be returned to you. God is so big He can cover the whole world with his
Love and so small He can curl up inside your heart.

When God leads you to the edge of the cliff, trust Him fully and let go. Only 1 of 2 things will happen, either He’ll catch you
when you fall, or He’ll teach you how to fly!

The power of one sentence! God is going to shift things around for you today and let things work in your favor. If you believe, send it. If you don’t believe, delete it.

God closes doors no man can open & God opens doors no man can close..If you need God to open some doors for you…send this on.

Have a blessed day and remember to be a blessing….
