Finally…Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallow part 2 (HPDHP2) are in the cinema!!! Well..after watching Harry Potter and the Deathly hallows part 1 (HPDHP1) I expect too much for this movie, and in the end, I’m the one who feel upset. HPDHP1 is the best Harry Potter movie I”ve ever watched because the movie is 90% identical with the books and makes my imaginations become real. While HPDHP 2 makes some changes and deleted many explanation scenes, which makes some people who didn’t read the book still wonders the reason and background of some part. Apart from the book the movie is awesome, but compared with the book, I’m upset..TT..

I don’t feel Harry’s emotion in some crucial scenes. His face was so flat. What I like from the movie, they put some light and comical scenes, like Ron speaks in parseltongue, and he tell Hermione that he used to hear harry speaks parseltongue in his dream. XP. And I also like Molly Weasley”s expression when She defeat Bellatrix. Her eyes and smile was great, it’s a victory expression that can’t be easily forgotten..Xp. I think it’s enough for my mumbling and rumbling insight. These are the differences between book and the movie that I found, some are crucial, but some can be ignored.

At the beginning. The movie begins with Harry, Ron, and Hermione confront Griphook. If you read the book, you can imagine how Harry is struggling between the Horcruxes and the hallows.

The Movie: Harry chooses Griphook instead of interrogating Ollivander. Griphook immediately agree to help them after Harry gave him permission to take Gryffindor sword as the payment. At the Lestrange’s vault, the treasures will multiplied if being touched

The book: It took 4 days for Griphook agreeing to assist Harry break into Gringotts . After Griphook helps Harry and the gang to enter Lestrange’s vault, the book show more hindrance. Besides, multiplying, the treasures also burnt the one who touch them. It feels more challenging, isn’t it?Xp

At Gringotts. This is the reason why I prefer the book rather than in the movie. The movie always (or mostly) shows Harry and Ron as stupid persons that can’t even think any idea to help their own selves, while Hermione always being the extraordinary one. This one example from the Gringotts’ scene

In the movie: Hermione is the one who urges them to hop to the dragon and release it from the chain.

In the book: harry is the one who takes the initiatives, hoping to the dragon, and releases the chain from the dragon. Hermione is helping to break down the ceiling.

Then there is an additional scene in the movie. It shows that Voldie kills all the goblins including Griphook, and then the Gryffindor sword is disappeared. This scene maybe intended to those who aren’t read the book, so they don’t wonder why the sword suddenly back to the wizard’s hand.

The searching for Ravenclaw’s Diadem are really different from the book.

The movie version: Harry, Ron, and Hermione enter the Room of Requirement together with Neville. In the middle of their reunion, Snape calls all students to gather at the great hall to announce about Harry’s intrusion to Hogsmeade. While Snape asks anybody who knows about Harry’s arrival to step forward, Harry shows himself to the audience, then McGonagall come forward to protect Harry. Snape runs away in this scene. And after that, Harry secedes himself from Ron and Hermione. Harry is looking for the lost diadem, while the couple is looking for  another way to extinguish the horcrux. Harry gives Marauder Map to them. Luna chase Harry, she;’s the one who told Harry about Helena Ravenclaw (another scene that indicate harry can’t think by his own self). Harry speaks to Helena and she pointed where the lost diadem are hidden. He goes to the room of requirement alone without knowing how the diadem looks like. He’s ambushed by Malfoy, Crabbe, and Goyle. Luckily his bestfriends come in the right time to help him after destroying the horcrux in the Hufflepuf’s cup. Crabbe cast the fiendfyre spell which burn the room requirement. Harry, Ron, and Hermione helps Malfoy and Goyle escape. Five of them are saved. Harry takes the basilisk’s fang from Ron to stab the horcrux in the tiara, What’s weird in this scene is, Cho Chang is still being a student at Hogwarts, in fact she’s one year older than Harry.

The book version: Harry, Ron, and Hermione together with Neville arrive at room requirement. In the middle of their reuinion, Luna, Dean, and the other Dumbledore Army who already graduated come through the same tunnel (including Cho Chang who has graduated and Ginny who has been hiding since Christmas holiday). All the Dumbledore Army in the room of requirement ask to be participated in defeating You Know Who, so Ron’s ask them to help finding the diadem. In the end of discussion, Luna accompanies Harry to the Ravenclaw’s tower. There, Alecto Carrow already being there and she directly touches her dark mark to inform the dark lord. Harry jinx the professor so she’s unconscious. The other Carrow comes to help his sister but is interrupted by McGonagall. Then both of them enter the ravenclaw’s tower, but harry and Luna already hid in the invisibility cloak again, so they only see the unconscious Alecto. Harry’s too angry when Carrow spit to McGonagall, so he shows himself and defend his fav teacher. After they take care of the Carrows, McGonagall asks Harry what he’s doing at Hogwarts and tend to help harry by buying time for him. She sends her patronus to inform other Heads of house, so they can extract the under age and prepare for fight. Snape run after being attacked by McGonagall-Flitwick-Sprout. Nobody in living memory knows where the lost diadem is. So Harry found out by himself, if there aren’t any living memory knows, the ghost maybe know the location of the lost diadem:. He searches for the grey lady who is Ravenclaw’s ghost. After the conversation he knows that the Grey lady is Helena Ravenclaw, daughter of Rowena ravenclaw, and he also concludes that the diadem was in the room of requirement all this long, the room where he hid his book of potion. Harry back to the room of requirement, but he can’t find either Ron or Hermione. So on, He searches them through Marauder’s Map. Ron and Hermione meet him with a basilisk fangs and destroyed Hufflepuf’s cup. All of them are heading towards the room of requirement. Harry already knows how the diadem looks like because he already seen it when he hid his potion book at his sixth year in hogwarts, Ron and Hermione also already had the sketch of the diadem from Luna’s father. They are attacked by the Malfoy and the gang. Crabbe cast the fiendfyre which also destroy the horcrux in the diadem. Harry- Ron- Hermione save Malfoy and Goyle, while crabbe is dead.

The movie shows Snape’s memory in tears, different from the book and also from the prequels, who describe the memory as a silver light that can be kept in a vial. Snape’s memory in movie isn’t deeply described as in the book, though still touching. Hmm..I’ve been wondering about the pensieve. Is it the same pensieve like in the previous movies? From what I remember from the previous movie, the pensieve was made from stone like the book has described, but in this movie it was made from silver metal..Xp

After getting into Snape’s memory.

In The movie: Harry meet Ron and Hermione in the stair and tell them don’t forget to kill nagini if something happen to him

In the book: Harry is wearing his invisibility cloak, he passes Neville, and then He told Neville to kill the snake if Harry, nor Ron, nor Hermione don’t have the chances to do that.

At The Forest. After Voldemort casts Avada Kedavra upon Harry.

In the movie: Harry finds himself in a white and misty room. Harry sees a creature like baby who moans desperately. It was the Voldemort’s soul which has lived in him for more than 17 years. Voldemort is the one who killed his own soul. And then Harry meets Dumbledore. Have a chitty chatty. Dumbledore explain about the Horcrux, and what Harry can do next. Harry back to reality. Voldemort also falls to the ground. Some death eaters try to help him stand up. Narcissa slow but sure approach harry. She realizes that Harry isn’t dead, then she asks harry how’s Draco’s condition. She lied to Voldie that Harry already dead. The death eaters march to Hogwarts ground. At that time Neville is walking outside the ground and found the sorting hat, he looks inside the hat and his expression is changed. Voldie and his death eaters arrives on the ground and he makes the announcement that Harry is already dead. All the Hogwartians go outside, then Voldie asks them to surrender, and move to his side. Draco Malfoy follows his parents command, and their family sneak out from the death eaters parade. Neville tries to resist Voldie and encouraging the Hogwartians in the same time. In the middle of catastrophe, Harry rises from his unconscious act, make all the people shock, and the war begins. Harry is dueling with Voldie, while Hermione and Ron try to kill the snake, in the end Neville who has the Gryffindor sword cut the snake in the school area. Harry and Voldie’s dueling place changes into the ground, harry explains about the wandlore law, “the wand choose his own master” – “when its own master was defeated/ disarmed, the wand changes his allegiance”. So on, there is no need to kill the wand owner. ~ The explanations about the wand ownership is blur so many people still wonder about how it works.~. Voldie finally dies. Harry gathers with his friend, he explain everything to Ron and Hermione, breaks the wand to pieces and THE END

In The book: Harry also finds himself in a white and misty room. Sees a small creature’s moaning, and meet Dumbledore. In the conversation, Dumbledore explain about the Horcruxes, the Hallows and its relationship with Harry (Harry is actually the descendant of the Peverell brothers who create the hallows), His obsession with the Hallows and why Harry is still alives after Voldemort kills him. He tells Harry that indeed Voldemort’s soul had lived in him for more than 17 years, Voldie made the bond between them stronger by taking Harry’s blood to rebuilt his living body. So, Liliy’s enchantment is still working to keep Harry alive. The chitty chatty goes on. Harry awakes in the forest but pretending that he died. Voldie is falling down on the ground after casting the death spell. He stands up and pointed Narcissa to check on Harry. Narcissa realize that harry is still alive, then she asks about Dracos’ condition. She also lied to Voldie that harry is dead. They parade to the Hogwarts ground. On the way to Hogwarts, all the centaurs is watching from a far. Hagrid yells at them for being coward. The Death eaters’ parade arrive, Voldie makes the announcement that the boy who lives already dead while trying to runaway. The Hogwartians come out, they’re in shock, but Neville keep resisting. Voldie tries to  attack Neville, suddenly the sorting hat come out and landing on Neville’s head. There are some events happen, then Neville pull the sword from it and slash the snake immediately. The war begins, it involves not only wizard and witch but also other creatures such as house elves, centaurs, and giants. Harry hid himself in his invisibility cloak during the catastrophe. The final war happens in the great hall. Harry pulls out his invisibility cloak after protecting others, and the he faces Voldie one on one. Harry explains to Voldie what’s happen between them, what Harry has that makes him superior than Voldie, he also explain about the ownership of the wand, and makes a statement that he’s the elder wand’s owner. Voldie dies because his spell backfires on him. There’s a celebration party. Harry, Ron, and Hermione sneak out to Dumbledore room. Harry repairs his own wand using elder wand and tend to hide the elder wand until he dies normally.  And then THE END.

19 years later. At the King Cross Station. Albus Severus is so cuuute..There isn’t any significant differences, but James is not as fussy as in the book..^^..And finally the journey of Harry Potter has end. Hix..My journey since I was in the seventh grade..TT..Kinda hard to let it go, but I’m quite satisfied with the ending. Thank you to JK Rowling who has colored my life with her book.Harry Potter series will always be one of my favourite books ever..
